Developed a customer segmentation strategy for a major record label. The approach identified targets for increasing sales by raising artist awareness among some segments and finding new products to offer those fan segments showing lagging sales penetration.
Analyzed performance among early vote returns for a Presidential campaign. The campaign used the analysis to redirect resources to turn out underperforming segments within their target universe.
Designed and built a targeting process for identifying and recruiting advocates for environmental issues. The targeting lowered the cost of acquiring advocates and resulted in an upset victory for a ballot initiative.
Developed micro targeting models to help a Presidential campaign to assess the likelihood of voting among new registrants. These models were used to target get-out-the-vote activities to increase turnout among supporters.
Built custom response models for the credit card division of a large, international bank. Integrated data from partners to target products, which lowered acquisition costs and increased card usage.
Assessed how a leading retailer used data to make credit decisions for their private label card. Redesigned the real-time application process to use information to improve the credit quality of approved accounts.
Segmented the small business customers for a large, international telecomm provider. Identified a segment responsible for a significant portion of their account attrition. Developed a proactive retention strategy to reduce account attrition.
Developed an engine to transform billions of credit card transactions into a measure of personal interests and preferences. The Preference Engine created a set of scores that were used to target offers and increase sales.
Designed and implemented an information-based account level management for a large bank. Used data to drive decisions on credit line assignment and product cross-sales to improve account profitability.
Adapted a software vendor’s application to use financial time-series data to proactively identify user needs. The modification resulted in a major software sale to Fidelity, who subsequently used the product to reduce account attrition.
Built custom risk models to predict bad debt for a Spanish credit card portfolio. Improved the bank’s ability to quantify risk on the portfolio earlier in the life of the account and thereby reduce losses.
Designed and prototyped an Executive Information System (EIS) for a Canadian credit card issuer to give an overview of performance while providing access to the underlying drivers.
Designed and prototyped a suite of reporting for a national credit card issuer to focus the organization on the actionable items driving key performance metrics.
